The iShares 2017 S&P AMT-Free Municipal Series seeks investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance of the S&P AMT-Free Municipal Series 2017 Index. This index measures the performance of AMT-Free, investment grade, noncallable U.S. municipal bonds maturing in 2017. The Index includes municipal bonds from issuers which are primarily state or local governments or agencies such that the interest on the bonds is exempt from U.S. federal income tax and the federal alternative minimum tax.
